India’s gateway, Maharashtra has many interesting sights, which are little known, but are wonderful sights for culturally as well as for relaxation at the hill stations.

Ajanta- Ellora Caves relive the mystery of the past while visiting caves temples at Ellora, Panchakki – an engineering feat of bygone era and Bibi ka Maqbara at Aurangabad as well as Ajanta caves.

  • Itinerary

    Day 1: ARRIVE MUMBAI

    Welcome to India!! Meeting and assistance upon arrival at the airport by representative and transfer to hotel Mumbai’s skyline is recognizable in advertisements and pictorial depictions stating the country’s technological and financial hub. It’s an imposing skyline. The contours are hazy but the residents don’t seem to mind. They love this place and this all-encompassing love is infectious. Overnight will be at Mumbai.

    Day 2: MUMBAI – AURANGABAD

    Breakfast will be at hotel Later departure transfer to the airport to board flight to the Aurangabad. Assistance on arrival & transfer to the hotel. Overnight will be at Aurangabad.

    Day 3: In AURANGABAD

    Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Proceed for a full day sightseeing with excursion to Ajanta Caves. Ajanta caves: Nestling in an inner fold of the Sahyardi hills, 100 km from Aurangabad in the shape of a mammoth horse- shoe, are the 30 rock-hewn caves of Ajanta. The Caves date from the 2nd century BC. Discovered in 1819 by a group of British army officers, these startling achievements took around 600 years to create. Carved with little more than a hammer and chisel, Ajanta, once the retreat of Buddhist monastic orders features several ‘chaityas’ (chapels) and ‘viharas’ (monasteries). Return to Aurangabad and overnight will be at Aurangabad.

    Day 4: In AURANGABAD

    Breakfast will be at the hotel. Proceed for a visit to the Ellora Caves, Daulatabad Fort and Aurangabad Caves. Ellora Caves: Impressive in their own right is the rock-hewn temples and monasteries of Ellora that lie just 30 km away from Aurangabad city. In all, there are 34 cave temples, 12 Mahayana Buddhist caves (550-750 AD), 17 Hindu caves (600-875 AD) and 5 caves of the Jain faith (800-1000 AD) 22 more caves, dedicated to Lord Shiva, were recently discovered. Kailas Temple (cave16), the central attraction at Ellora, is the most remarkable. Aurangabad Caves: The almost forgotten caves of Aurangabad lie just outside the city. Excavated between the 2nd and 6th century AD, they reflect TANTRIC influences in their iconography and architectural designs. In all there are nine caves which are mainly viharas (monasteries). Overnight will be at Aurangabad.

    Day 5: AURANGABAD-MUMBAI-GOA

    After breakfast, departure transfer to airport to board Flight to Mumbai from Mumbai you have to connecting flight to Goa. Assistance on arrival & transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

    Day 6: IN GOA

    Morning departure transfer to airport to board flight to Mumbai from Mumbai connecting flight to Goa. Assistance on arrival Goa airport & transfer to Hotel.

    Later visit Old Goa, this is the Heritage capital of Goa, it is suggested that you walk around the area and experience the grand and world famous Churches of St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Close by are the other very sacred and prominent ASI Monuments of St Cajetons Church, St Catherines Church, Tower of St.Augustine,and Nunnery/Convent of St.Monica. You can also choose to visit the Wax Museum which is close by to these world heritage Churches. Later Drive to the capital of Goa – Panjim city, walk along the Latin Quarter of Goa, Mala Fontainhas, visit the State Museum and later see the pious Mary Immaculate church in City Square and finally end the tour by exploring the Markets of Panaji.

    Later relax in Beach. Overnight at Goa.

    Day 07: IN Goa

    Breakfast at the hotel. Day free for at your leisure. / Overnight at the hotel.

    Day 08: IN Goa

    Breakfast at the hotel. Day free for at your leisure. / Overnight at the hotel.

    Day 09: IN Goa– MUMBAI

    Breakfast will be at hotel or onboard the aircraft. Reach Mumbai and transfer to hotel. Proceed for an excursion to the Elephanta Caves – the 7th century sculptures of manifestation of Shiva, containing beautiful carvings, sculptures, and a temple to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva. These caves are thought to date back to the Silhara kings belonging to the period between 9th – 12th centuries. With the Brahminical resurgence during the reign of Gupta dynasty in 3rd century AD, these great cave dedicated to Lord Shiva exploded into existence at Elephanta. Legends and history suggest that the great warrior prince of Chalukya dynasty Pulkesin ll raised the shrine to celebrate his victory. Historians also suggest that the Kalchuri King Krishnaraja built these caves in 6th century AD.

    Later in time departure transfer to airport to board flight to the destination.
